Like I said, at least 100 pounds overweight. Normal weight for a 5'11" person is about 180-190.
I calculated his BMI at 5'11 and 325 lbs here is what I found out!
NORMAL = 18-25
OVERWEIGHT = 25-29
OBESE = 30 +
Kevin Smith's BMI = 45! Sorry Kev, but it has nothing to do with a flight attendant disliking your movies, you are morbidly obese not just "fat"!
And again, putting a seat belt on and the arm rests down means little because if any of you have sat next to a large or obese person, their upper torso can spill into your seat as their arms and back spills into your seat. Again, this doesn't just apply to obese people but large people as well. If you are a 6'7 300 lb NFL TE, then this rule applies to you too regardless if you are muscle

I thought it was a good idea that Southwest airlines did this. I have had to sit next to a morbidly fat people on planes before too and it was extremely uncomfortable with their arm fat constantly rubbing my own arm.
This guy knows his faults yet he is blabbering on his twitter page as though the airline is the one to blame in this situation. He is doing it strictly to impact their business because the other 50% of Americans who are fat are going to side with him and stop buy Southwest air tickets.
Excuse me. It is time for me to go to the gym. This guy should too.
I don't think Kevin Smith is 325lbs... people are saying "I heard he is so and so weight"... I saw him in person a few months ago and he looked nowhere near that fat, unless he REALLY gained a LOT in the past few months. He is also not 5'8.
He's not at the weight where I would get on an airplane and go "oh no, I'm hope I'm not sitting next to that guy".
my eldest daughter always needs to buy 3 seats together or fly front row in 1st class when she flies, there just isnt enough room on a plane to accomodate her long legs.

He looks big in that CNN photo. He doesn't have to be morbidly obese to inconvenience the passenger sitting next to him. I don't think it's a coincidence he bought two tickets on his original flight to Burbank. Smith said he buys two tickets out of comfort not his size. Yeah right! Let's think about this for a minute. He is a Hollywood director who has more than enough money to take private jets let alone first class flights on other airlines. If he is cheap enough to fly Southwest airlines, I'm pretty certain he would buy one ticket and not two if he could help it.
I rarely see extremely fat people flying these days. If forced to choose, I'd prefer sitting next to a fat person rather than a screaming baby (which is what happened last time I flew).
