Look you seem to miss the point that the longer people stay on drugs the more money the companies make. You seem to also miss the big picture which I have pointed out to you.
People would not need all this life saving if they were not loaded with toxic chemicals, toxic food etc on a daily basis. But you will never see the connection.
Ok again if you don't want to ingest chemicals grow your own food, buy organic or go directly to a farm you know. It is not that difficult. I do it. I drive over an hour once a week to a meat and dairy farm, then to a fruit and veggie one. So that I DON'T ingest chemicals. The choices are out there if people care enough to look. Again peoples lack of caring is NOT the drug companies fault. The drug companies treat the illness that are out there, that IS what they are suppose to do.
They learn about the drugs from reps I mean come on. Not to mention the prescribing of children drugs not tested on kids, which includes most antidepressants, anti psychotics etc. Family docs diagnose things like bi-polar. They dont have the training to do so.
That is both the doctors fault and the parent for not educating themselves. Has nothing to do with Big Pharma.

Again place the blame where it belongs on the people looking for the easy fix. There would be no need for drug companies to make the drugs if the demand was not there.

There really isn't that big of a difference between the empty calories in sugar and the empty calories in HFCS.
Your points would be well taken if it were not for the fact that this would adversely affect legitimate and helpful supplements. The hypocrisy of the legislation is what I find bizarre and over the top. Big pharma is literally getting away with murder and the corruption is blatant. If they do not crack down on them too, this bill is ridiculous and obvious in its real intent. In other countries, they are not even allowed to advertise their drugs on TV.
You do realize that if your hypothesis that "Big Pharma" is this all powerful entity....that you have no chance at all of winning and the bill will pass?

It wasn't enough for Congress to kill off the public option. Now they want to kill us directly by trying to outlaw nutritious food supplements ... again. The corporate medical industry is doing everything they can to keep the American people from having any option besides their over-priced and often harmful health "care", when they aren't denying coverage altogether that is.

This is the same FDA that routinely waves through dangerous synthetic drugs that kill hundreds of thousands, hardly a recommendation for their administrative prowess. Yet millions of people take natural vitamins and other food supplements in complete safety already. Where is the epidemic of vitamin pill fatalities? There is none.
