Too bad it took an executive order, but, I'm glad it is moving forward.

When I attempted to watch THE speech of the day and found that grinning fool who always stands behind and to the right of Obama grinning at the oddest times I just had to stop watching. Actually, I wonder why Obama didn't leave old Smiley Joe at the Olympics.

Then turn your head and just listen, why is it that some people can't figure out the simple solution....

7 Democrats, 7 Republicans, and 4 Obama appointees with comprise this panel. I have a feeling that this will be Obama's excuse to raise taxes... "The panel said we had to!"

Well, the poster child of the GOP (Reagan) raised taxes seven out of eight years (the only time he cut taxes was soon after taking office, must have recognized the mistake for his follow ups). So, why would it be wrong now?

Do you not favor debt and deficit reduction? Are you opposed to PayGo since it will force programs to be budget neutral as opposed to pulling money out of thin air?

Default More government to help us feel good

It's hard to imagine a government panel, created by an executive order, being anything but a further waste of taxpayer money.
I wonder will there be an oversite committee to oversee the panel?

The point is we have to cut spending raise taxes if there is any hope of getting the deficit under control. Everyone knows that, but Obama doesn't want to be the one to do it. He will blame the panel instead of his own reckless spending habits.

I'm all for PayGo if it would be applied evenly and ALL government spending fell under PayGo restrictions, but they don't. It's selective and has minimal effect.
