Britain's military may not be the largest in the world and even though it has suffered many cuts, it is still highly technologically advanced and our military personnel are highly trained. That being said, another armed conflict is the last thing Britain needs with its economy in such a mess and having just been involved in a lengthy conflict in Iraq.
Having served in the British army i can tell you that the Argentines will be extremely ill advised to start another war with the UK.
Our troops have been in action alongside America for the past ten years and are battle hardened.
The last war with Argentina saved Maggie Thatchers butt as she would probably have lost the Election without winning that war.
War is not wanted or needed but if Argentina tries anything with the Falkland Island..... make NO mistake, they will have their asses well and truly kicked......... The UK has never shirked from a fight and will not now if it happens.

These islanders should give mainland British people something to be proud of. I don't usually read the Daily Mail, but stumbled on this article about a convoy staged by the islanders to show their allegiance to Britain and to tell Sean Penn where to shove his views:
Such patriotism would be nice to see on the mainland, IMO. These 3,000 or so people have a right to decide their own fate and a right to be defended by Her Majesty's armed forces should the need arise.
1) President Barbie is trying to take their minds off of their economy.
2) There is oil in the area...good luck fighting off the Brits (and possibly others) for the rights to the oil.
