What hurts Republicans is their anti-gay & racists tendencies. I know not all Republicans are old-fashioned but it seems too many really make it difficult for young Americans to even consider voting for them. I was on the student for Obama committee so I am a bit biased btw. Plus my uncles are labor union officials who work for Democratic candidates. Sort of a family thing
This is why I was a former democrat because everyone around me was a democrat and no one was into politics. Now that I'm older and actually took the time to find out more about other political parties, I found that I ID more with republican on the social issues. You may likely remain democrat for the rest of your life but at least get to know republicans because we are not all about being anti-gay (remember, Prop 8 did not pass in LA county so there are tons of anti-gay democrats) and the whole republicans are racist is just media hyperbole.

I won't cheer but I will not grieve either. The man has done a great deal of damage to this country but that is not a reason to hate him. I only disagree with his elitiest view of the world and desire to play Metternicht.

I never claimed to be happy that Cheney had another heart attack. But he has been a crummy vice-president & done illegal things that involved torture. My grandfather was mean & hateful so when he died we went to his funeral but nobody cried.

He's already gone as far as I'm concerned. He just makes a bunch of noise from his home in the Northern VA/DC suburbs. Not very many people take him seriously. I think the Republican renegade to keep an eye on these days is Eric Cantor who is almost as irrational as Cheney. Like Cheney he talks a bunch of smack and has little substantive ideas on what is good for the country.

If Cheney dies, his demons will still be wreaking havock somewhere, lol

I will grieve that he died at home or in a hospital instead of in prison.

I'm sure those who are close to him will mourn. Most others won't feel anything. That's how it will be for all of us when the time comes.
