I saw on the news this morning that they are going to use Tili in shows again? WTF? This whale has been involved in the death of three people! That's just not safe.
I suppose he's too accustomed to getting fed to be released back into the wild? He should not be in shows anymore, imo. The exact same thing could happen. He should either be kept away from humans or put down.
Tili is a cash machine for Sea World. He's sired something like 15 offspring already and you KNOW that's not cheap.
They should stop that practice, but as long as people flood the parks to see these wonderful animals perform tricks, I imagine the goldmine will continue.
I was just watching the news and they are reporting that the trainer stepped down into the water onto the top step and then LAID DOWN with this killer whale that none of the trainers were allowed to be in the water with and he got her by the hair that she was growing long for locks of love, and that the trainers have the option of using an oxygen pack just in case of being submerged by the whales and she opted to not wear it.
Mooseketeer: "Would anyone of us truly like to be kept in a tiny little box to be gawped for the rest of our lives ?"
There's a classic Twilight Zone episode about this, "People Are Alike All Over."
Roddy McDowell arrives at Mars and finds that the Martians look just like humans. They give him a home furnished with all the things an Earth house would have, complete with books and everything he needs. Then one day he looks outside to find there's a fence around his house and Martians have gathered to see him, and there's a sign that says, "Human in its natural habitat".
They should stop that practice, but as long as people flood the parks to see these wonderful animals perform tricks, I imagine the goldmine will continue.
