It would seem to me that the Dems could have thrown a few bones to the Reps 6 months ago and a bill would have already been pushed through. There are at least 4 or 5 Reps that don't require much nudging to get them to vote with the Dems. Not to mention the Dems had 60 votes anyway and didn't even need a single vote from the Reps to pass a bill.
Yeah, it worked real well for Scott Brown. He went from Tea Party hero to RINO in like 60 seconds when voting for the jobs bill.
Even if Obama said to Republicans, "I'll incorporate every idea you've got into the bill", they would still reject it. Their desire to see him fail overrides everything else.
We will have to wait a few hours, until FOX constructs their spin, to hear some of CD posters "opinions" regurgitated. It will probably include terms like tinkering edges, blank sheet, do over ... all new stuff I am sure.

They refuse to accept reality and will stick to their talking points regardless. They've loads of sheeple to feed, and then take them to the slaughterhouse.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama. The vast majority of Americans believe that the health care/health insurance system is broken. Doing nothing will only make matters worse.
No one is suggesting that we do nothing, but the majority of people want it done the proper way, and not the socialist plan Obama has to ruin the country.

No, what's over is Republicans' obstruction of health care legislation. Reconciliation (majority rule) is going to happen, and they can't stop it.
It's lunacy to say that Obama is trying to "ruin the country" with the health care bill. You'd have to be paranoid to the point of being mentally ill in order to believe such a thing.
