Out of 384 metro areas in the nation, 183 had begun to recover, or 48 percent, according to the December Adversity Index. That's up from 146 metro areas in November, or 38 percent.

Recovery begins in nearly half of metros - Eye on the Economy- msnbc.com

The Obama Recovery is clearly underway.

Thats good news. But automatically attributing it to any stimulas is a bit pre-mature. There is a whole ton of speculation and assumptions that must be applied to lead to that conclusion.

A recovery without jobs? Is that "really" a recovery? Almost 10% unemployed....nothing for Bambi to be proud of.

Hmmm... Half of metro areas.... I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and guess that it's the more affluent half where the recovery is happening cuz I sure don't see much help for those of us who are unemployed or stuck in bottom-feeder jobs.

Not at all. According to the report:
These were the metro areas that moved into the recovery category in December: Abilene, Texas; Anderson, S.C.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; Anniston, Ala.; Asheville, N.C.; Athens, Ga.; Auburn, Ala.; Beaumont, Texas; Bowling Green, Ky.; Charleston, W.Va.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Cheyenne, Wyo.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Columbia, Mo.; Denver, Colo.; Dothan, Ala.; Durham, N.C.; Florence, S.C.; Fort Collins, Colo.; Gadsden, Ala.; Greensboro, N.C.; Jonesboro, Ark.; Killeen, Texas; Lafayette, La.; Louisville, Ky.; Mankato, Minn.; Mansfield, Ohio; Midland, Texas; Montgomery, Ala.; Napa, Calif.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Peoria, Ill.; Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Raleigh, N.C.; Rockingham County, N.H.; Springfield, Ohio; Texarkana, Texas; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Washington, D.C.; Wilmington, N.C., and Youngstown, Ohio.
For the most part, those are not affluent metro areas.

Gotta give it time. It took two years under Reagan for the economy to begin improving, and this current recession is worse. The fact that there are signs of recovery in just a year's time is pretty amazing.

We will be recovered when we return to having a REASONABLE amount of national debt. Until that point, we are a disaster waiting to happen.

One year and $1 trillion dollars later, 52% of metro areas not showing signs of recovery. Unemployment continues to rise.

I guess it's all perspective.

I feel like I'm reading and or watching the movie 1984..

Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary.

Recovery?!?
