When I was of school-age in Louisiana, our kindergarten teachers could take us to the bathroom, with another teacher as witness, and paddle our behinds with our pants down around our ankles. This was at, East Leesville Elementary School, corporal punishment was alive and well.Which i'm sure most would deem child abuse these days.

I wouldn't, particularly.
I'm liberal on most things, but not on corporal punishment. I think we could get rid of 2/3 of the prisons if we adopted corporal punishment for criminals.
Things have changed, but not for the better. My kids have gone to parochial schools and were slapped a few times- they had it coming. I am just glad there was someone there to pop them, as they would have faced alot worse when they got home.
