Write on the census form, "Four people live here. For the rest, show me your warrant. If you don't have one, please leave."

This complies fully with the law.

I'll be getting my form in the US Mail.

Hope it doesn't get lost being mailed back.

I don't think the Census could have found a more INefficient way of contacting people. Yeah let's show up unannounced only to have people not home or no time or flat refuse to answer the questions. What is the point of sending out actual people. Virtually everybody has a mailbox.

I got a census envelope in the mail yesterday. I thought it was the actual census form but it was just a letter saying that I would be getting the census form next week.

WTheck....don't they have anything better to do with my money than send me junk mail? According to the Census Bureau they are sending out 120 million of those letters. Idiots. No wonder we are freaking BROKE!!!

A suggestion I received via e-mail:

A quarter of the space on this year's form is taken up with questions of race and ethnicity, which are clearly illegitimate and none of the government's business. So, for Question 9 on the census form that asks "What is Person #1's race?" (and so on, for other members of the household), we can answer Question 9 by checking the last option — "Some other race" — and writing in "American."

It's a truthful answer but at the same time is a way for ordinary citizens to express their rejection of unconstitutional racial classification schemes. In fact, "American" was the plurality ancestry selection for respondents to the 2000 census in four states and several hundred counties. So remember: Question 9 — "Some other race" — "American". Pass it on.

Yeah, let's rebel against the...Census?

I do not have a problem with the census. Besides it is mandated by law. However the American Community Survey, to my knowledge, is not. Therefore, I will not be completing it, if and when, I get one.

i plan on doing that as well.

other than that, is there a rational reason to be vehemently opposed to the census? not claiming that you are, of course

If you don't fill out the census, you're not one of the cool guys. You live in mommy's basement, and wear a tin foil hat. Is that enough peer pressure?
