According to this article (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100310/ap_on_go_ot/us_white_minority - broken link) 2010 is believed to be the year when for the first time more minority than white babies will be born in the US. Seems like the main reason is that Hispanic women have on average 3 children as opposed to just 2 with other ethnic groups.
Are Hispanics well integrated, do they speak English to a sufficient degree? Or do they stick to themselves? I know there are places in the US where there are already bilingual signs, but will that become common throughout the country? And if that trend continues, will the US gradually become a Latin country in the future? Will Spanish be on the standard curriculum of US schools?

Please...a race bait posting is so 2006. As the song goes...people are people. Maybe if you judged them on that, all of the other questions would answer themselves.

I don't need that, with a little practice I could switch back to Spanish in no time

The southwestern quarter of the US used to be Latin territory in the 19th century, maybe it will return to be

Hispanics are not a homogeneous bloc and the majority of them, like all U.S. citizens, just want good lives for themselves and their families. I doubt the country will ever become "Latin" so to speak, we will just become more mixed.

And if NAFTA never went into effect this wouldn't be a problem. I'm as liberal as the next guy, but it's something I'm increasingly holding against Clinton.

Absolutely not. If they were, I wouldn't have to "Press 1 for English" and " 2 for Spanish". Could give a ton of examples.

Considering Neuling is posting from Portugal, I'm guessing learning Spanish would be a breeze.
