Joke thread. Even if it were to be upheld, the parliamentarian's ruling would do nothing to block reconciliation. Instead of taking the first left and then a right into the parking lot, you take the second left and then another left. Health care is a done deal. Like Social Security and Medicare before it, it will be a vote-getter for Democrats for generations. This Waterloo for Republicans has ended the way it did for Napoleon. All they will be remembered for is their insolence and the cheap political pettiness of their deliberate lies, distortions, and misrepresentations. The Party of Obstruction...the Party of Useless...the Party of No...as in at this point, there is no real purpose to be served in keeping them around any more at all. Say goodnight, Gracie...

The Dems have a majority and will find their loophole.
Something will pass and none will be personally responsible; this is their out while still doing what they have been commanded to do by their fearless leaders.

It is not a reform of "health care" only of the federal government's involvement and ability to levy taxes upon citizens for "health insurance". It increases their interference. Since Obama has chosen this as his signature legislation it is indeed "Obamacare".

How do you think they are able to "pay" for 30 million uninsured? I guess you haven't been paying attention.

Will not be able to keep the doctor/insurance if you want - obama stopped claiming that lie ages ago.

Does provide funding for abortion - why do you think the senate bill is DOA in the house according to the Stupak and other pro-life dems?

Doesn't ban illegals from getting coverage.

You really need to read up on the details of what exactly is in these bills.

It doesn't cut payments for Seniors. The increases will come from the very wealthy afterall 60% of Bush's $1.3 trillion tax cut went to the top 1%.

You will be able to keep the doctor/insurance you want.

The language is a bit different, but the Senate bill does ban federal funding for abortions. The Stupak amendment can actually ban private insurance from offering abortion coverage, which the Senate Bill does not do, but both ban federal abortion funding.

The bill does ban federal funding for illegals as well as banning illegals from entering federal programs. It doesn't ban Private insures from insuring illegals, but they already do that.

Childcare tax credit was only for the wealthy ?
10% income bracket is for the wealthy ?
marriage tax credit is only for the wealthy ?
capital gains tax is only for the wealthy ?
amt could hit incomes as low as $33K/year - are they wealthy now ?
teacher credit for using their own money for classroom materials - teachers are wealthy now ?
$4k deduction for college - only wealthy go to college ?

You are sadly mis-informed my friend.

I've seen nothing in writing to that effect. Yes, a "promise" made by Obama, but nothing on paper in Congress.

If it's such a done deal, why no bill ?
