Can you imagine what would happen to you if C-D posters were testifying under oath? SOME programs and benefits do not kick in for several years. Some start right away. That's the way it is when a major new enterprise is launched. Nothing remarkable here at all. Except for all the fog and smoke that right-wingers seek to create,,,

Taxes kick in right away, services in 4 years. That's just a fact you can't spin.

The question remains; how would an insurance company get away with that?

WRONG. He has governed as a centrist and a determined proponent of bipartisanship, his devotion to the latter having been matched by absolutely no one to his right. His agenda has been radical to the same extent that common sense is radical.
The most radical president ever to disgrace the Oval Office. Bank takeovers, auto takeovers, student loan takeovers, administration filled with radicals, the most divisive, partisan, petty, vindictive SOB ever to disgrace the Oval Office (he ran on that, right?), administration filled with lobbyists, terrorist sympathizers and radical militant gay activists.

Let's not even mention the Failed Stimulus that wasted a trillion+ of taxpayer money.

WRONG. Simply break the health care bill for example into its major components and pieces.
That is not something the democrats/obama want to do, even though the public is screaming for just that. One piece at a time, step by step and you would get bipartisan support. It was never tried for the simple reason that the bill(s) they have crafted are the foundation for their liberal utopian dream of single payer. If they took it piece by piece, the dem wouldn't have the opportunity to create a whole new bureaucracy, over a hundred new departments, obviously new federal workers to fill up those departments, massive regulation on private insurance with the ultimate goal being;

elimination of private insurers.

Obama has admitted this, the democrats have admitted this - their bills open the door to single payer - and the American people know it too.

Pure delusional BS!
Just a few days after Obama was sworn into office...

"With those two words — “I won” — the Democratic president let the Republicans know that debate has been put to rest Nov. 4."

More BS! How much 'support' is there for the Cornhusker Kickback? Louisiana Purchase? Florida Fiesta? Union Sweetheart Deal, etc., etc., etc.?

Kill the bill!

Like they say in New York---'sez you!'

Folks never cease to amaze me...whining and yelling because their a**es aren't being kissed fast enough, and the President isn't properly genuflecting, and hasn't pulled a magic wand out of his tuckus and waved it and 'made Amewwica awwwwl betta!' in 6 weeks after the inauguration...which sounds strangely like what the GOP/right is making out like THEY'RE gonna do, should this 'massive upheaval' they keep bellyaching about occur in 2010 and 2012...

All that hot air and name-calling in the piece of post I quoted, seems to be the norm nowadays, like the GOP is gonna ride to the rescue and save us 'sheep and Obamabots' from ourselves, because we don't know better...yeah right, we know well enough to tell you to take all that baloney and stick it somewhere, because we can't help it if you get your undies in a bunch because things aren't going YOUR way, so you take the next best strategy...which in this case always seems to degenerate into name-calling and fearmongering ('ATTENTION AMERICA...ELECT US OR THE S**T WILL HIT THE FAN!!')...same poop, different day

When would the Medicare Advantage loophole be closed?
When would review of premium increases start?
When would automatic COBRA extensions begin?
When would new long-term care provisions become available?
When would supplemental assistance to early retirees commence?
When would funds for Community Health Centers come on-line?
When would new health care training and certification programs kick off?

In general you're right. Most people don't pay much attention to what happens in Congress. But this year? They're paying attention. And what they see they don't like. And you're also right that people care about health care. It's very personal for us all. And it is precisely because we care that the product that has been delivered by a very flawed process is being overwhelmingly rejected by the people--if you can believe the polls. People have short memories. But they won't have forgotten just 7 months from now what the Dems have done.

They look to the future and think what they want the country to be in 10 or 20 years and not what Rasmussen tells them right now. If they don't want the bill THAT badly then they can vote out the Democrats in 2012 if it passes. But if it FAILS, not only are these people going to vote out the Democrats but the BASE will stay home which will make matters far worse for them.
You see, Kev, that's precisely the attitude that so rankles people about liberals. Voters need to be treated like children because they don't know what's good for them. What that says is that the liberals in Congress have forgotten that they work for us--not the other way around. But they'll get a reminder in November.

Right. And who are the people rioting in Greece? Government workers who have been feeding off the government for years and are about to see the gravy train come to an end. Same thing happens here whenever a state or local government proposes to cut spending. The teachers, social workers, fire fighters, paramedics etc., come out in droves to intimidate the law makers and municipal authorities. That's why growing government is so dangerous. And that's all that Obama has been doing since he's come into office. I'd wager that 90% of jobs "saved or created" by the stimulus were government jobs.

Awe come on, you don't think people will be livid when they find out that the bill requires four years of increased taxes before the major portions of the bill kick in?

You do not see the outrage that will ensue if the democrats circumvent the rules with the Slaughter Rule that would "deem" the Senate health care bill having already been passed the House - without an actual vote by members?

If the democrats ram this bill thru, by "any means necessary" and the people have complaints and heart aches over the health care imposed on them by the democrats, the blame for it all will be placed squarely on the democrats for generations.

You know there will be problems, tax increases to support it, problems, hiccups, and even potential for disasters from this health care bill, because its a government program, and every single time a new 0bamaCare complaint or perceived injustice raises it ugly head, the republicans will point to the Democratic Party for the blame.
