That was just one of nearly 400 start-up local chapters of the Coffee Party that met today for the first time. The only thing manufactured here is your reaction. How is what the Coffee Party is doing in their 7th week in existence all that much different from how your beloved Tea Party started out?
There were less than ten at the meeting I just came from. But it was one of about six scheduled across the Las Vegas Valley for today. I have a feeling, had I gotten up early enough to be at the one closer to home, there would have been more there. But, since I like those who were at the one I did get to, I'll be going back to that one when they meet again in two weeks. We didn't do a whole lot of political discussion (I had to leave early because my son didn't want to be there and was getting antsy) because we were concentrating on scheduling and getting new members. But there was enough politics that it is very obvious that we were NOT all on the same page politically. Where we all agreed was in the idea that we need to get our political "leaders" and senators and representatives to listen to what the PEOPLE want and not what the corporations and lobbyists say we want.

Just curious. Did the people at the meeting you went to do as the Coffee Party website suggested i.e. fill out their online questionnaire identifying the issues that are important to you and bring it to the meeting? They suggested that as a way to match up people to work on similar issues.

Didn't notice anything like that, but we did have a sign-in sheet asking for name, email address, physical address and phone numbers. It was because of that I found someone who had driven right by my home to get to the meeting, so I have a ride next time instead of having to drag my son to something he's obviously not interested in.
If there's really no wind in the Conservatives argument, no logic in their opposition, and they basically are nothing more than partisan hacks, there's always one way to attempt to sidetrack the issues!!

You are demonstrating a total lack of knowledge on how ACORN functions if you think anything about the Coffee Party remotely resembles them. As for what you consider an insult by calling both these groups "community organizers" are you aware that the Tea Party could also be called a grassroots group put together by community organizers? Most charitable groups that raise awareness and money for a lot of good causes were started by community organizers and some would go so far as to call Jesus the first community organizer on the planet. You are so bitter about Obama getting elected that you allow your bias to crowd out any sense of fairness or logic in your thinking.
