the rich are stealing from everyone THROUGH THE GOVERNMENT with the bailouts and taxation shelters. they are in collusion to rob from the rest of the population. that is why it doesn't matter which party is in office anymore, since they are both skimming the wealth of america from its citizens. tax increases don't go for "helping the poor". who actually thinks that anymore?
and tax cuts are gonna do the trick? I'll give the conservatives their tax cuts if they can guarantee liveable wage and health care are paid to workers. somehow I don't think they'll be honest about the whole thing.

do you think that any americans want to give more of their money to a government that bailed out wall street elite? i don't think so.
if the government handled the money responsibly, people might see the point of having tax increases but they sure don't with the way the government handles the money now. the government has no respect for either labor or currency.
Tell them, "Blame the government..."
Who else inflated the money, and devalued the buying power of the dollar bill?
Who used the illusion of more money, to take more in taxes?
Who burden the medical system with so much administrative overhead that a physician has to hire an office staff to handle the paperwork - at our expense?
Wasnt it great back in the day when doctors could just travel around and sell bottles of medicine to folks? No pesky paperwork back then.

So you dont have insurance, FICA coverage, workmen's comp, etc., and you like it that way?

Not surprisingly WALMART favored Single Payer, it would remove the Employer Mandate. In other words Health Care would no longer be an issue for them, all they would have to do is collect the Wage Tax, which they already do.
Jesus didn't believe in doing things for poor people except killing them in wars and forcing them to have babies who would then starve. The Gospel According To Jerry Falwell
Which is why I never listened to Jerry Falwell. He was the type of preacher who wouldn't have recognized Jesus if He walked right up to him.
Can you point out which chapters and verses deal with Jesus telling his followers to demand govt raise taxes and create bureaucracies to take care of the poor? I've found plenty where he instructs individuals to directly help, but still not finding the tax/bureaucracy thing anywhere. Thanks in advance...
Can you give us a list of churches where the preachers teach that? Because I don't know of a one!

Reason: forgot the underline!
You're exactly right. It's the non-believers that always get this wrong. They have no clue what Jesus taught. He never advocated stealing from those who earned their wealth and giving it to those who did not. He did preach charity. Two different things.
Early Christianity also forbid usury charges - you know that silly thing banks charge called INTEREST.
Old Testament:
[Exodus 22:25] "If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury."
[Leviticus 25:36] Take thou no usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee."
New Testament:
[Luke 6:35] But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great".
Some Christians choose what they want to think "Jesus was teaching" depending on
whether they are a have or have not,
don't you think

Yup. It was. A physician could afford to make house calls. And if you thought a traveling medicine show was the equivalent to a physician, you were too stupid to treat.

Back in the mid 1990s, I was told by a roofing contractor, who paid his illegals $12/hr rather than $10/hr to legals (because his costs amounted to $18/hr).

They worked harder. Took shorter breaks. Ate their lunch, sitting on the roof, and got right back to work.

You forgot the best one:
[Ezekiel 18:13 KJV] Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.
That's why government is held blameless when it 'smites' the enumerated usurer - government really does trust in God!
Why don't you talk about the income gap increase? Tell us how to fix that? Tax cuts don't seem to work, otherwise all the cuts Bush passed, would have done something.
The "income gap" is related to usury, an abomination, and has nothing to do with remuneration for labor.
Thanks to socialism, laborers are cheated out of the value of their wages, paying a tax to earn, a tax to spend, and a hidden tax when they buy.
