There would be no healthcare bill to vote on, because healthcare would have remained the same (or gotten worse)
As to "their accomplishments", it would be both of them going to Iraq and Afghanistan endlessly, as well as popping up at military bases all over the country, to continually hammer home a message (that would be dutifully amplified by the media without ever questioning a word of it) of how we are to remain terrified of brown skinned terrorists everywhere, as well as reminding us all how great America is and how we are saving the world from the terrorists.
Next up: Iran.

Pretty much the same exact situation we have under Obama (although McCain would be singing bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran)
So, by that logic, the government can never do anything to help its citizens, and Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security are really not helping anyone and these people would be better off just dying or living on the streets.
Although my point was mainly directed towards the government's actions during economic downturns, programs like medicare and social security prove my point. When the government tries to "lend a hand", it creates more problems. Medicare and Social Security are going to go bankrupt. When Medicare was created in the 1960s, it was projected to cost about $25 billion by the early 2000s. Instead it cost about $245 billion. This just goes to show that the CBO's estimate of the current health care bill is probably way off.

Instead of Sarah Palin making a reality Show about her idiotic lifestyle, she would have probably named it based upon what the McCain - Palin team is, which is "Dumb & Dumber" or the "Old & The Pitiful". Sarah Palin Reality Show
Also, Sarah Palin would've had a new bill passed for "Baby Mamma Drama" & Teen Rights for Sex before Marriage.
What an improvement they would've made on this country.
What have many American households done over the past couple years? Cut back on spending. Don't live beyond your means. Washington did the complete opposite. Our congressmen and senators continued to spend like there is no tomorrow, wasting money on pet projects, two wars, etc. As for the bailouts, you'll learn through basic economics, that bailing out an inefficient industry (such as the auto industry) simply takes more money away from other industries. More money for the auto industry equates to less money for say, the dishwasher industry (random example). And part of the reason why the auto industry nearly collasped was the unions. The U.A.W. required the auto companies to pay outrageous, above market level wages to its workers. It was simply unaffordable. The unions, bailouts, and government spending simply causes more unemployment, not less. The government's efforts to save industry and employment not only slow down economic recovery, but also adds to the debt. The sunshine may be finally starting to peak through the clouds, but we have a very long way to go before the sky clears up.
You make some good points and I won't defend what unions have done. But, there is a big difference between microeconomics that you describe above and macro economics that drive global markets.
