If you are still Catholic, it's time to wake up. You can't repress human sexuality without some ugly **** happening. And this calls into question the entire Christian church--Mary was a virgin, because having Jesus born through sex is just too... dirty. So sex is dirty. Thanks for 2000 years of sexual hangups, Church. I hope God punishes you.

This just continues to re-affirm my disgust for the Church and all those higher up that protect that corrupt business.

Anyone involved in this matter, who knew and did nothing to stop this pedophile should be held accountable. This includes the idiotic joke, the pope.

The Catholic religion is so outdated and corrupt it's just sickening. I must admit, I have a personal animosity toward the Catholic church for another reason.

My mother had a baby that died 2 days after he was born. Her husband was Catholic and wanted the baby (my brother) buried on the "Catholic side" of the cemetery. Since the baby wasn't yet baptized, this was not permitted. He had to be buried on the "Protestant side" away from the rest of the family and, of course, according to the Catholic religion, he is forever condemned to purgatory. What kind of EVIL nonsense is that?

Nothing wrong with going to church, but with so many other Christian churches to choose from, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian, it's hard to figure out why people stick with the Catholic church which has proven over and over to be rotten at the core.

It's the age and innocence of the child that attracts them. {shudder}

But the story of the cover up disgusts me as much as the acts of this predator.
That is total HOGWASH. Pedophiles are sicko SOBs who are attracted to children. When that act is committed by a man against a boy, it's homosexual .. so peddle this disgusting propaganda elsewhere.

Man, am I sick and tired of this up is really down, nonsense.

Furthermore, there is a well known (though often denied) link between pedophilia and homosexuality, as is clearly defined here:

Study shows link between homosexuality and pedophilia - Interim, September 2002

So let's drop the BS ... and condemn the act without the PC twisting of reality.

There is a difference between adult homosexuality and pedophilia. Pedophiles are sexually interested in children, and for most of them, it's not the sex of the child that is most important - it's their age. Let's not confused pedophilia with normal adult heterosexuality/homosexuality.

I'm with you. I was raised Catholic, and I could see through that BS when I was 8 years old. I went through the Saturday School nonsense from grade 1 through 5 ... and found it to be extremely creepy.

Personally, I figure you can convince anyone of anything if you can convince them to drink the blood of Christ and eat the Body of Christ, and think that is somehow a righteous and Godly thing to do.

But that's just me.

And let's not confuse the truth with total BS. The article I linked to above presents the real truth of the matter, and homosexual males are disproportionally represented in the pedophile ranks. Here is an excerpt of that text:
Quote:
According to Homosexuality and Child Sexual Abuse, pedophiles have long existed as a subculture within the gay rights movement. Dailey quotes David Thorstad, a homosexual activist and founding member of NAMBLA, to demonstrate that by 1985, pedophilia had gained acceptance within the homosexual movement, as it was in that year that NAMBLA was admitted as a member in New York's council of Lesbian and Gay Organizations and the International Gay Association. In the words of Jim Kepner, at one time the curator of the International Gay and Lesbian Archives in Los Angeles: "A point I've been trying to make is that if we reject the boylovers in our midst today, we'd better stop waving the banner of the ancient Greeks, of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Oscar Wilde, Walt Whitman, Horatio Alger, and Shakespeare. We'd better stop claiming them as part of our history unless we are broadening our concept of what it means to be gay."
This isn't coming from some straight white homophobic conservative male, pal. This is from YOUR gay community leaders!

And pedophiles absolutely tend to observe sexual orientation when selecting their victims. There are always exceptions, but the vast majority of pedophiles do pick their victims based on sexual orientation, with a disproportionate number being little boys victimized by homosexual males.

I't not a condemnation of all homosexual males unless one wishes to distort the matter ... then, it is.

It isn't just the Catholic Church or did you forget?

The list is as long for your "christian" counterparts... cast stones gently in a glass house.

Why is it the acts of an individual tarnish all they touch? where does this guilt by association come from? I suspect it is true The Church has a poor understanding of dealing with their priests that stray, but it doent mean the whole Church is bad.

Is it much different than cops covering for bad police? they try to protect their own. kind of a natural reaction I expect, no not ideal but it is what it is. I think "Christians" fail to realize they owe their beliefs to the Catholic church... from them all your splinter religions sprung....

When the cover up, and hence, the enabling of this abhorrent behavior to continue reaches to the very head of the Catholic church .. The Pope ... then it is the Catholic church that condemns itself, through it's own actions.

This ... "well the others do it too" is not a very good defense.
