A few years ago gun "buybacks" were held in DC with fair frequency- $50 per firearm, no questions asked. There were some turned in that were worth thousands to a collector, all went to the crusher. One I remember in particular, big stories about the program on the local stations, was a Spencer carbine.

Michael Poole, 29, their friend and tenant, also was charged after a Friday search of the Siano home turned up 30 guns, seven knives and two crossbows, but the charges against him were dropped, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
The weapons were left to Thomas Siano by his grandfather and uncle and are antiques the family never used, Poole said.
"They were heirlooms. He put them up in the attic because he didn't know what else to do with them. He never brought them out. He didn't want anyone to get hurt."

A city close to me was having a gun buyback for 75 FRN's a firearm, I sat across the street offering 100 frn's per firearm. got almost 400 firearms that day. the cops got almost none.
what i got was completely legal, and took and kept the ones I could fix and legally sold them.
even if the man had 3000 guns, how is that illegal?
For real..anyone is allowed to have as many guns as they want..it is in our constitution....just because people have been programmed by watching cops to hate guns doesn't mean we don't have a right to defend ourselves...if u take away that right then only criminals will have guns....i think the OP should have posted a link about an illegal MS-13 gang member who had 30 guns in his car instead of an American who chooses to own guns
Was it illegal because they weren't registered? Being that they were antiques, can you even register those?
