Only the CIA does stuff like that. The Navy still has some pride.
You are right. Perhaps those poor pirates were abused as children or worse, subject to white racism which made it impossible for them to reach their goals and forced them to persue a life of crime.
Those cruel Navy personel should be subject to immediate court martial for traumatizing the pirates and sentenced to life terms in prison and manditory divrsity training led by Al Sharpton and Nancy Pelosi!

Actually I was thinking pride as in not being seen as the over-the-top agressor in such a one sided fight.
It would be like some 10 year old kid picking a fistfight with Mike Tyson or hunting cows in a stockade with a m1 abrams tank, or taking care of a wasp nest with a flamethrower. It works for Yokels and Yahoos maybe, but it just isn't sporting for REAL men.
Good job Navy. Glad to hear there were no casualties on our end.
I'm puzzled as to why the pirates were taken into custody. Why didn't the Navy ship blow the pirates out out of the water once they fired. Why wern't the pirates subject to summary execution once they were taken into custody? UN guidelines permit pirates to be executed on site if I'm not mistaken.
Should have dumped them overboard.
My father in law said that when they pulled J*p pilots out of the drink in WW2, they tied weights to their ankles and gave them a tour of the bottom. I would think that equal treatment may deter further pirates.

Exactly.
What we should do is camouflage a a couple dozen small navy boats to look like easy targets. When pirates attack kill all pirates while keeping a total news blackout.
After a dozen pirate ships go out and not a one comes back the news will get around and they'll stop the garbage.
Now the navy ponders what to do with the pirates. Just toss them over.
