A couple corrections: Bush I's retreat was in Maine, and Reagan's was a ranch in the Santa Barbara area. And what these retreats all have in common was space and a modicum of privacy. Obama's home in Chicago is right in the middle of a densely populated neighborhood, on a semi-busy thoroughfare no less. I doubt he will be spending much time there. I haven't heard much about him being in town since he took office.
