My goodness! Wasn't Representative Smyth actually arguing about the Missouri Compromise, and the status of slaves???? I don't think that has anything to do with "natural-born" citizenship as it is applied today.

The normal procedure in situations like this as I remember is for the offender to spend the duration of the deployment in a military prison and be dismissed from the service on their return.

So what? I can dig up quotes that Congressmen made in just the last week you that you won't agree with and carry as much weight.
