How can one person discredit an entire party? It was his opinion and like that broad brush, he has used it often to no avail.

the use of those terms are NOT mine, but a repeat of the childish rants that have been flowing back and forth. And by the way, these are the rants that those folks gave themselves, I guess before they found out what it really meant. Can't blame them, until reading about the term on C-D I had no idea what it meant either.

No, that is not what I said at all. Try reading it again. I specifically said tea party is not asking anyone to do it. You didn't get any of my post.

Tea party activists: Don't confuse them with independents

Tea Partyers are disgruntled social conservatives aiming to take control of the Republican Party. Independents are the antiparty force, trying to restructure the partisan political system. -- Jackie Salit, president of IndependentVoting.org, a national association of independent voters.

"The latest polls show President Obama’s loss of support among independents. Why? Obama has, for the moment, “gone home” to the Democratic Party. Remember, independents simply don’t like parties.

The independent movement, fundamentally radical and inclusive, with a broad spectrum of Americans at its base, uses its power to reorganize the status quo, to reform the partisan way our country practices politics. The tea party movement, ideologically overdetermined and with no room for diversity, uses its power to reinforce the partisan status quo, but with a conservative twist."

Really?

How many call tea party members racist? Hateful? ignorant? stupid? hillbillies? Rednecks so on and so on without any valid reason other then they heard it or was told it

Kinda like republicans are racist. No valid reason for that either but doesnt change that people call all republicans racist.

I dont use that term and no one I know does Because you found 1 or 2 that have made sarcastic signs doesnt mean all does. Doesnt really mean they consider themselves that either its a kinda like a backhand compliment.

IMHO The Tea Bag Party and their hyperactive demonstrations are best thing that could happen to the Democratic Party. I have seen they Republican Right wing disrupters in action. IMHO they are a paid mob assigned the task of disrupting any and all meetings with constituents by a elected Democratic Congresswoman.

Democrats are not a threat to our Republic but the Right Wing radicals and disrupters certainly are. I recognize "Brown Shirts" when I see and hear them. I can only hope the rest of the American voters do as well.

The republican party has turned itself into the political party of the lowest common denominator. I'd like to think that most of the thinking people of this great country can recognize what the GOP has become.

The GOP is run by some very hard cases willing to use and abuse the Tea Party activists to return control of the United States to the plutocrats and corporatists to the detriment of the other 99% of us.
