Is that what Glenn beck tells you churches try to make their congregations do? I guess that would be threatening, it's right up there with "they live off your tax money." Excellently chosen words, Glenn! Push those buttons.

Wow, even the word "equal" has been freighted with sinister meaning to you guys!

If you mean adopting children, helping towns get water, feeding people and so on, homeless and dom. violence shelters, helping people with cash and vouchers, good churches promote that. Habitat for Humanity.

Methinks delussiane is purposely missing my point.

(I have never listened to Glenn Beck.....was only vaguely aware of his existence until reading about him here.......listened to Rush for about a month maybe 10 years ago)

However, if people are being warned away from churches promoting equality in any way other than one person being equal to another in the eyes of god, then yes, I agree with him

Anything other than that is political, not religious

No, not purposely, just a little dense.

Glenn is demonizing concepts that are vitally important to civilization for cheap political purposes, though in the quotes I found he doesnt use the words "equal" or "equality"; not sure what you mean there.

"The statement that Justice is blind to socio economic class" by hawlkeye is completely absurd. Our Justice is based on social economic class with poor street dealers getting jailed and financial frauds getting multimillion dollar bonuses.

The big problem with this country is that the statement "Liberty and Justice for all" is completely false. There is one "Liberty and Justice" for the people that can afford it and none for the rest.

I have to leave but will say that I haven't previously found you dense unless on purpose so will say my communication skills must be low this morning (Unless others understand exactly what I am saying. In that case, I stand by saying you just aren't getting it....for whatever reason)
Ah.....quickly reread OP as to the 'equality' issue.
Will have to read again later to see whther or not social justice nd equality mean basically the same thing

I saw The Blind Side and for anyone who is truly interested in seeing how the best in America comes out and rallies around people who just need a shot, then I would suggest you watch it if you have not already. Government is not the solution..the solution is to get government out of our way and let the people take care of "social justice". That is what Glen Beck is saying..if you watch him long enough to pay attention...

Got a ten minute reprieve.........
If churches adhere to the policies promoted here, I will say Beck is wrong .
If they are doing to opposite then I agree with him.

As I said... Hijacked. It's a catch phrase for radical leftist groups.
Previously from thecoalman in reference to someone using the phrase "right-wingers":

You can really spoil a good topic as so many on this forum get spoiled by throwing around the names, it makes you look foolish and doesn't add anything to the discussion.
Glenn Beck sees socialism in everything. Jon Stewart had a brilliant segment on it where he showed how Beck takes something good and benign and then pushes it to its most extreme, radical potential (though unrealistic) outcome, and scares his followers into thinking that's what people are pushing for.

Maybe the religious and other people who use the phrase social justice just don't want poor people being overwhelmingly targeted for dislocation, toxins, and other such treats the wealthy foist upon them.

Tell me, delusianne since you are the one here promoting it, tell me when you have shared your 'wealth' with others...take even a small amount of people...10?1?.... to the point that they live equally to you.
Take any one church......tell us when they have done the same.
Tithing may make one feel better but won't begin to cut it.
Equality does, after all, mean equal.

I agree. As a part of the social justice class in our parochial high school, kids are sent to an orphanage in Columbia sponsored by the diocese. True social justice does not stop at the borders and has nothing to do with politics or marxist philosophy. Again, the whole concept has been highjacked and perverted through the new socialist agenda.

What socialist agenda? It's been perverted by the far right who are demonizing the concept, but I've never met anyone aside from conservatives who disagrees with your definition of it.
