Harding did minimal effort to combat the recession. Keep in mind up until FDR and when Republicans were Republicans (hands off business) it was taboo for the government to interfere with buisness. We got out of the depression of the early 1920's on the sheer fact people had money still. Businesses and the government were essentially bailed out by the people. That concept laid path to what was the biggest stock market collapse in American history and this time people had no money and couldn't turn to the government to help them out. Not too much different on a social level compared to the last few years except that fact we do have a president that cares about the working class's wellfare so we won't sink as far as we did in the late 20's and early 30's. The majority of economists can tell you Coolidge and Harding were no better than Hoover...
I am sure if the Republicans take the presidency and congress their time will be spent undoing all the damage hussein obama and his criminal administration have done.
We can only hope..... Today they are the second head of the same animal. Not sure if this trend will ever change considering this counties demographics.

This isn't an "lol they'd no nothing, guys, am I right?" thread, or bashing anyone. It's an honest question: let's say that the Republicans took a majority in Congress. what would Republicans do to solve the unemployment problem? What will they do that Democrats haven't at least tried?
They would probably Hire Sheriff Joe out of Arizona. The one that the ACLU is trying to jail.
They love him in John McChains Arizona.
He could lower meal costs to 40 cents or so and bring his tent city with him.
The rich folks could then keep all of the rest of the money saved.

It doesn't matter if it works to them because they are for MORE government responsibility. You can't increase the role of government and reduce taxes. Since their entire position revolves around increasing the role of government, they will never support tax cuts, regardless if it works or not.

The reason that you keep making the same responses is because Nononsenseguy believes his dogma. Despite the issue that trickle-down economics/ Supply side econ and deregulation never work for the majority of Americans. Reaganomics caused 2 recessions the second of which cause the elder-Bush his chance of a 2nd term because of having to reneg on his read my lips...no new taxes campaign pledge. In reality this is capitalism over country...my wallet -v- us (wallet wins everytime). Lassiez faire capitalism doesn't work anymore because we don't live in small communities that are removed from other systems. Enomomies are entertwined and infrastructure is required to maintain the system. Taxes are required for the roads, education of the workforce and the ability to regulate big business. Too big to fail will require us to bailout more companies in the future and deregulation will increase this. For capitalism to work for the majority of people in the USA the government must enable the small businesses to survive and keep the "walmarts" of the world from crushing them (competition between business is just as important in supply and demand as consumers).

If you read articles and books about Harding that were written AT THE TIME you will see nobody said this then. And if you look at quotes form Democrats at the time you will see they didn't believe it would work but after we got on our feet again in record speed they all praised him.
It was only years later that lefties started saying this about Harding. And they praise FDR for keeping us in a depression for a decade. LOLs. Shows you what the lefties want for this country: poverty.
