What can I say, american math and science education is horrendous.

Maybe if the finance sector didn't suck up so much talent there would be more of a push to fill slots in technology with American workers, until then I dunno what to tell you.

Jobs to educated white collared workers aren't where the majority of the job losses are.

I find this article puzzling due to the following,

1. the fiscal year runs from September the previous year to October 1st of the current year, so, with that said, one would believe that the issuance of the green cards either began during Bush administration OR the numbers have not been released yet for this current year.
2. I can't seem to find this information ANYWHERE other than this site and one other sight, so again, where are they getting this information if no one else including FOX hasn't pick it up?

If you want skilled labor to go to other countries then capital is going to go with it, just as cheap labor did with going overseas (which is where a lot of the jobs have been outsourced).

You have absolutely no loyalty to America!

With unemployment above 5%, there should be no immigration, legal and especially illegal.

Americans first, you traitor!

Wow. thats getting very personal.

Maybe this language should be applied towards those companies that ship jobs outside of the u.s or those companies that sponsor those from other countries to work here in the U.S.

This article does not breakdown how many of these green cards are renewals and how many are new.

If the capital flows east you're screwed anyway. I have far more loyalty than trying to enact protectionist policies that will fail and screw fellow Americans over.

You want to fill those skilled slots and help your country? Try actually educating your population, then they might be competitive on a global scale.

I mean, I kind of doubt some guy that worked at a machine shop in Detroit that got laid off a year ago could suddenly shift into a skilled position that requires a college degree.

Exactly. THis is why he allowed GM and Chrysler to fail while nationalizng our banking industry while simultaneously letting the US economy be destroyed. You can note this by the DOW rising to 11000.

The stock markets - a representation of how businesses are performing, and th success thereof - has voted - and it has voted a resounding "YES" for this Socialist Hussein Obama.

Wait, what?

That is one of the biggest farses on America! I think you better check into theese so-called skilled workers. In the tech field, skilled American workers that held their jobs for years were forced to train their own replacements by foreign workers so the company could pay less wages. The majority of these imports are not skilled but cheap labor for foreign owned companies.
