Multiply jaykibs by millions, and you see how any idea becomes a "right."

Yeah, um, that's not how it works.

The Supreme Court's blessing would be nice, but not necessary.

You're delaying the inevitable. It will happen. It's a matter of when, not if. Just like desegregation, women's rights, miscegenation, etc. etc. You'll throw a fit, whine and complain that your country is lost, and after a couple of years, nobody will care any more except crazies holed up in compounds.

it was a big issue among community organizers on whether to fix this issue in 2010 or 2012. most wanted to wait for 2012.

no big deal.

as for the other issues about "the people spoke". the people sometimes get it wrong. time will tell. in the 60's when legislature was voted on to repeal discriminatory housing policies, more than 2/3rds of the voters wanted restrictive covenants to stay in place (thus continuing to keep communities segregated). luckily the courts intervened. something about the pursuit of happiness. i think that was also settled for marriage cases.

the people will repeal prop 8 or the courts will fix it.
its just a matter of time.

It's only a matter of time until prop 8 is overturned.
If the conservative justices don't legislate from the bench.

Changing sentiment in 18 months? LOL....righhhhhhht. It's called sore losers who can't believe they were subjected to merciless agony by being born in the United States of America. Now they want to project that misery on the rest of the population by forcing everyone to recognize moral indecency. They simply can't believe that conservatives have so much clout. THAT's what it's really about.

If that's the case then if there was a vote in 2010 you wouldn't find it to be an issue since it would win handily.

Also, forcing everyone to recognize moral indecency? Please explain in detail.

You know, progress happens. It usually happens in spite of conservatives, but it happens nonetheless. And thank God it does! I would never have been allowed to go to school with black people otherwise. Equal rights will happen. It always does!

Judge Walker will, hopefully soon, issue a ruling. But then it will be appealed. And appealed. And appealed. Then SCOTUS will rule on it.

Afraid that your side will lose, huh?

Opinions and attitudes change over time. There was a time when the majority didn't want women to vote. There was a time when the majority believed that blacks should be slaves. And although a slim majority in California voted in 2008 to make same-sex marriage illegal, that, too, will change.

Nope. It's simply a belief that adults should be able the individual of their choosing - although you're welcome to imagine that this is all some nefarious plot to drive conservatives crazy if that makes you feel better.

A poor comparison. Blacks are a race; homosexuals are not.
