Judging from these posts, the only people who actually paid more taxes, earned more. I am glad to find out our taxes did not increase and even happier to learn that people are doing well!

I paid less because my income decreased ( no OT and bonuses), and I upped my charitable donations of money and mileage.

My effective tax rate was about 5.8% less in 2009 than in 2008. I earned about 3.5% less in 2009.
