Seems to me, the last couple of days, the TPers have cleaned up their image somewhat. Fewer fringe nut job pics and even the rantings are more directed. The GOP infiltration, seems to be working.
I thnk what you will be seeing in the coming months is a battle for the hearts and minds within the Tea Party. One one side you have the militia nutcase lunatic fringe members, on the other you will have the run of the mill GOP conservatives. Who will win?
Why does the Tea Party movement get so much attention: Fox thinks it contributes to Republicans defeating Democrats. Democrats see Tea Partiers splintering the Republican Party - a Ross Perot. Both parties see the Tea Partiers coverage as a win for their side - thus the over saturated coverage. They are being used by both sides
Kinda like the Republicans who bashed and mocked the liberal anti war protesters. You know?
So even though there have been protests and threads about what uneducated idiots belong to the Tea Party (of course another falicy) is this an admission that they indeed are NOT inconsequential?
I am not a part but the tea party people came to the top for a reason. People are concerned about government spending. Its has grown faster than any thing I saw in the 60's even. From what i have seen they are very peaceful too which is good.
Smear, lie, accuse, lie some more about those things they fear and that threaten their power.
That's the pot calling the kettle black, you describing the current crop of "conservatives." The right is using Saul Alinsky's rules for radicals as their playbook.

It is not a fallacy.

They are not even in the same class as the decent people protesting peacefully.
Yes, the tea baggers are not in the same class as decent people who protest. I agree. Some are of course. Some aren't. Same with liberals. When I go to protest for any cause, I don't do violent things.
