And it'll remain at 28% of GDP no matter how congress tries to manipulate the tax code.

Actually, I do question the source of these graphs; the figure I saw from a WSJ article said 20%...Hauser's Law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Taxes are at their lowest in 60 years. So yeah, one does wonder what their real motives are.

I would love the oppurtunity. I don't live my life with some kind of reliance on somebody else or some government to take care of me. I would be quite all right on my own.

Secondly, over 1/2 of the USA will pay ZERO in income taxes..... ZERO !!! AND... some of these ZERO payers will STILL get a refund.

MotherJones.com? Gimme a break.
For the 100th time. You are talking "income tax" only. "Income tax" is only 45% of Federal tax reciepts.

You intentionally (or ignorantly) do not include "payroll taxes" which the middle class pay a "higher share" and account for 36% of Federal tax reciepts.

For instance you do not pay medicare tax for income over $106K. Lets take Paris Hilton (No talent, worthless) despite making 50 times what you pays only a tiny tiny fraction of her income on Medicare while you pay much much more.

Are you thinking straight? I don't think you are. Let's see, the middle class accounts for 36% of tax reciepts as you say. How is that the majority of taxes? you do know that percentages go to 100% right? Or are you using Obama logic where it can go to 3,000% or some other made up number? There are more middle class tax payers than rich, so we SHOULD account for a higher percentage of tax reciepts. It's only common sense. Now if you want to talk actual TAX DOLLARS, then the rich pay a hell of alot more than you and I do in actual dollars.

Nobody is saying payroll taxes are the "majority" of taxes. Payroll taxes DO bring in about 80% of what income taxes do.

You don't have any figures on the payroll tax do you?

Your right wing rhetoric only included the figures on income tax so you could spread lies about how mean we are to the ultra rich.

Lemmings never learn!

Also 45% and 36% do not add up to 100% obviously because the Federal Government has other taxes which I did not include. ie excise taxes, leases on Federal lands.

All these taxes...were being taxed to death!

Wrong. Same as it ever was.

I think geniuses like you should donate more ... sounds like you feel guilty for not paying what you perceive to be a fair share.

No one is stopping you ... send uncle sam a few more bucks .. I'm, sure he'd appreciate it.

Gas tax, Booze tax, tobacco tax .... you name it, and there is a tax for it ... except the air you breath ... but they're working on that one too with the "Carbon Tax". Then ... we'll have the Value Added Tax ..... I love that one ... "Value Added" ... what value was added?

I would bet they would fare much better than the welfare class. Conservatives tend to know how to hunt, fish, farm and shoot.
