Nearly three-quarters of Tea Party activists attended college, compared to 54 percent of all Americans, and more than 3 in 4 call themselves conservatives.

Also, 68% of them make over 50,000 dollars a year, and they are over 80% white, 10% Latino, and only 2% African American.

Also, only 8% of them blame George Bush for the economy. Kind of shows their base on reality, and that they are partisan, instead of being non partisan.

When asked which government programs they wanted cut, they didn't want Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and military funding cut.

They are only complaining about less than 5% of the economy, and no one knows whats in that part.

It's sad because the '07 tea party would have most certainly approved of huge military cuts. Shows that the movement has been hijacked, just like the Barry Goldwater Republican party was by the Trotskyite Irving Kristol and his band of scum, including the DEMOCRAT LBJ with his daisy commercial. LBJ was a neo-con before it was cool.

Can someone explain to me why tea party members think if it becomes mandatory for everyone to have health insurance, that's 'tyranny' (and proof that Obama's a Nazi....) but,, we have to have car insurance by law, and somehow that isn't tyranny.....?

It's not required to have car insurance. Only about the billionth time it's been said, and also it's not on the federal level. Each state has their own law.

Well, I finally figured out what tea BAGGERS want.

They want freeways and the court systems and parks and schools and libraries and fire and police protection, etc., to appear by magic....what a bunch of lazy , UN-PATRIOTIC, blood -sucking scum....if they don't want to contribute to the "upkeep" of the U.S. they should be deported.

Talk about thinking they're ENTITLED !

I wonder where these anti-Americans were when we spent/are spending TRILLIONS on war, on the Iraqis !

Were they protesting the COSTLY war...bet not !

So they don't want to pay taxes...so why aren't THEY in Afghanistan fighting their own war???.......taxes support the military....seems they never mention that...

BTW why can't tea BAGGERS threads be combined...under Treasonous We are ENTITLED to Everything for Free Lazy Tightwads.

Well for one, they are partisan, and not "middle of the road" and not "every American" if they think that George W. Bush had nothing to do with the current financial process.

Secondly, they only seemed concerned about the smallest part of government spending. When, if they were really concerned about government spending, they'd be fighting against our military spending, which is 9 times more than our nearest possible combatant (China).

The Tea Party people why the don't consider programs like "Socialism" Security and Medicare to be "socialist" because they benefit from them.

The Tea Party folks are anti-unemployment benefits and call it "welfare" until they lose their jobs and apply for it.

The Tea Party folks are anti-Affirmative Action unless their White wives benefits from it

The Tea Party folks are anti-welfare until they benefit from corporate welfare for their company

The Tea Party folks are only anti-"Socialism" when it doesn't benefit them

That money was taken from them by force. No opt out feature was provided. Well, it is for social security, but not for medicare.

Unemployment benefits are managed by the state and dues are paid by the employer.

I cannot confirm this is the case. Is this just a hunch?

All people will take advantage of moral hazards. It would be stupid not to. The point is that action is being taken to try removing these policies from existence.

No, the point of this thread, is that they aren't against these policies.

The support Social Security, by over 90%. They support Medicare and Medicaid by over 70%.

So they aren't against social programs, just the ones they don't regularly benefit from.

Also, only about 25% of Americans identify with the Tea Party. Thats roughly the same number of Americans who are far right wing Republican supporters.
