LOL.

OMG a politician used a slogan!

What was wrong with the sign???

It was put up by the crew of The USS Abraham Lincoln.

Their mission was accomplished.

I had family on the ship.

I was in Poland today and I got change.
Nothing has happened to neutralize the transaction for me.

Promise #1
• Will start giving tax breaks to companies that create good jobs right here in America.

Correction: I will start giving tax breaks in a second stimulus since my first stimulus didn’t do crap for small businesses. I have now learned that it is they who create jobs. Someone should have told me that.

Promise #2
• Will cut taxes - cut taxes - for 95% of all working families. "Because in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle-class.”

Correction: President Obama's budget proposes $989 billion in new taxes over the course of the next 10 years, starting fiscal year 2011, most of which are tax increases on individuals.

1) On people making more than $250,000: Total: $636 billion/10 years
2) Businesses: Total: $353 billion/10 years

Are we to expect that none of these tax increases will be passed on to the little man?

Promise #3
• Will set a clear goal as President: in ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East.

Correction: And The Whole World Laughs Out Loud

Promise #4
• Will help our auto companies re-tool, so that the fuel-efficient cars of the future are built right here in America... will make it easier for the American people to afford these new cars.

Correction: Cash For Clunkers added money to the national debt while doing virtually nothing for Detroit, jobs, or the environment.

Promise #5
• Will go through the federal budget, line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work and making the ones we do need work better and cost less - ("because we cannot meet twenty-first century challenges with a twentieth century bureaucracy.")

Correction: Thousands of earmarks later………………..Obama has yet to use the Line Item Veto

Promise #6
• Will only send our troops into harm's way with a clear mission and a sacred commitment to give them the equipment they need in battle and the care and benefits they deserve when they come home.

Correction: My definition of “harm’s way” and “clear mission” is only applicable for an 18 month timeline. This does not mean that I intend to secure victory. I forgot to tell you that during the campaign.

Promise #7
• Will also renew the tough, direct diplomacy that can prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and curb Russian aggression.

Correction: I love the use of the word “can.” It gives me a way out when critics call me out for being hopelessly naïve. It's my Semantical Back Door.

And the biggest Harbinger of all:

Promise #8
• If you have health care, my plan will lower your premiums. If you don't, you'll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves.

Correction: Anyone who’s been paying attention knows how farcical this statement is.

**********************************

Shall I continue?

The words "Hope" and "Change" are no longer relevant to this Administration, and any future campaign that aspires to use these two campaign themes do so at their own peril. American's were bought and sold on a concept that is nothing but more of the same in Washington. The bad taste left behind will not go away anytime soon.
Can you say a good con GAME! How could anyone have been sold on such a farce, of a ner era of HOPE AND CHANGE, he said it so often, i knew there was something that would never happen. Thank you for this thread and being so spot on. thanks i definitely agree with you.

I never used the words "hope and change" together like that myself. I still use them independently however.

I believe his supporters are still sold on the farce. Look at the comments...'oh well, just slogans, they all do it'.

They don't seem to be able to connect the dots that the failure to deliver on those 'campaign slogans' have had real-life impact.

The NeoConfused can stop the wide-eyed look of surprise act already. After all, they gave us two terms of a guy who claimed he didn't believe in using the military for nation building and proceeded to do just that.

Selective memory, as well as selective use of intel's a good thing over there on the right, eh? .

Ahh, but don't you wish we had George back now, after a year of a socialist pig destroying our country..
It was so nice to have a real man in the WH...
