... do you mean via education? do you mean doing what can be done to fix the economy so jobs can be created? federal-wise, you can see WH policies for those and others at the WH site. If you mean welfare expenditures you can look at your state's policies to see what's being accomplished.

One for now. Social security. Since Democrats like government "holding" retirement money for someone until they retire why won't you allow a person to...

Collect it at a lump sum at retirement?

Will it to a person of their choice?

Make the decision for themself how much is sent monthly?

Why do you tax it as taxable income?

Why tax interest in a bank account?

All that holds people back and shouldn't it be their right to decide their own life specially after retiring?

One one of that fallacies about Social Security is that it is a retirement fund, it is not. It is a Retirement Insurance Benefit, call it old aged welfare if you like. It is a fund to provide income for those no longer in the workforce.

I certainly not in favor of "soaking" the rich. But they can certainly afford to pay more into the system.

"When rich people's money runs out"??? That's a laugher! The number of millionaires in 2009 was up 16% after a 27% drop in 2008. The increase in upper class wealth would have been much greater if the real estate market wasn't crap. The rich are getting richer and the middle class has been disappearing for decades. Your question is nothing but a Frank Luntz GOP scare tactic.

if you say so. but old age welfare is going too far. lots have paid in, unlike welfare, and lots will never live long enough to even get their contribution back.

Taxing it as taxable income once a person starts drawing it is rather a dirty thing to do given that government already witheld it for years and then treats a person like a child giving a monthly allowance don't you think?

Government has abused SS, it has grown beyond its intended scope, why do Democrats refuse to be willing to admit error?

Do Democrats enjoy controlling a person's retirement? Because that has what it has led to to a point.

Why can't Democrats understand the reasoning that some don't want to be controlled like that and that some in retirement think they deserve the right to use that money as they see fit?

Why does the federal government need to be involved in education?, why can't the states take care of it themselves?

Hopefully in the future, you will have the option to OPT out
of Social Security if you choose - if it even exists
