A friend of mine feels that the government's misconduct is the fault of the people. She says the people are stupid because they keep voting them in.

I feel the government's misconduct is primarily the puppet master's fault who are causing all the damage and misery. It is not the people's fault, because they have constantly been misinformed and brainwashed by the press, that are owned by the rich who own the Fed and keep stealing our money. Our choices are "would you like the brown bear or the black bear to eat you", and that's not much of a choice. Besides that regardless of which bear we choose the election outcomes are questionable at the best.

Were the people better informed then of course they would not stand for all the corrupt and dishonest things that are happening. At least this is my opinion about this. My friend still feels differently. She thinks the people are letting it happen and, because of that, it's the people's fault for it happening. And she thinks there is no hope because the people are too stupid to catch on.

Whose fault do you think it is and why?

Q: Who voted Bu$h in ?
A: He was seated by the Supreme Court.

The majority did not vote for Bu$h, yet he
is still sitting in the throne.

Just a wild guess, but I
would conjecture an illegal, immoral and
violent occupation...
Death of the middle class...
The erosion of rights....
A ever widening class divide....
Culture of violence.....
Terminally ill economy......
Styx reunion........

There is so much waste and mismanagement that I don't think you can even assign blame. Folks complain about the poor getting handouts, but the rich get plenty too. The circle of problems between govt folks and private industry is incredible, and the waste more than you can imagine. I was in DoD for 34 years, and I can't believe the junk we fund. I think the truth is folks don't understand the problem, because they are focused on either getting their political POV across to others (love Bush/hate Bush) (bash liberals/bash neocons/bash religious conservatives) or drivel (Paris Hilton jail sentence).

How many folks understand what is taking place with Russia, and how things have gotten to this point???

Everyone has contributed so everyone is to blame. For most, theirs is a sin of omission. The 'poor' failed to put two and two together and see the larger picture. They allowed themselves to be victimized by the fears designed to weaken them. It's their fault for ignoring their own power and buying into the illusion of hopelessness and desperation. "What can one man/woman do?" they ask.

Of course, the 'rich' realize the power of thought and emotion and use advanced methods to affect everyone else. With little resistance from a weakened population, there is simply no way curb their appetite for destruction. When no one complains about their heinous acts, what's to keep them from committing more? The failure of the masses to take control of their own individual lives and rule themselves is what allows our government (run by the elite 'rich') to cause damage to the planet and misery to its inhabitants.

This is a study in victimhood. Complain all you want that someone else created the situation you're in--it won't be listened to. The universe doesn't work that way. You choose everything whether you are conscious of it or not. If you believe you are weak and subjected to the imposing wishes of others, then voila, that's the world you live in (our current situation). But, if you believe you are sovereign to yourself, that you answer to no one and consciously can assume responsibility for what you create, then you cannot be victimized (the way out of our current situation).

The poor hopeless masses create those who rule over them and will maintain their victim lives until they wake up and realize they are the source of the problem for allowing themselves to be victimized in the first place. Only then does a species spiral into enlightenment.

Pardon my esoterica.

If the government is causing damage and misery it's the people's fault for either electing them in the first place or not throwing the bums out in the next election. Too many of our elected officials are outright crooks but they keep getting elected over and over again.

Exactly Hawk, for those constant complainers, how many of you have ran for public office? been a party delegate? or attended a local caucus/party meeting? Change starts from within.

What a novel and enlightened thought. . taking responsibility for oneself, and ones own actions instead of blaming the "goverment."

It is really scary to see how many people do not want to stand up and take ownership of their lives and believe goverment should solve their problems. Government cannot "cause misery!"
