Right wing blue collar workers....instead of trying to achieve what the garbage union has been able to do ....they want to tear it down and bring them down to their level.
And they'll defend any means by which the rich and corporations profit in the Billions.
Classic peons.
In a just World, these sell outs would be made to live in certain states where they can cut each other's throats trying to sell their neighbors and co-workers down the river.
Dog-eat-dog is how they act. Dog-eat-dog is what they deserve.
Building maintenance man trying to take a garbage truck driver's livelyhood from him.....pathetic.
And how have they "achieved" what they have? It's called extortion. They hold hostage the public until they cry 'uncle.' There's a reason that unions are so heavily infiltrated by the mob: same mentality, same tactics.
nice way to try and make their job sound like you need a skill. Like I said anyone with a 3rd grade education can ride on a garbage truck and dump cans, if they are still doing it that way. Where I live there is 2 guys riding in a truck and the truck picks up the cans. Wow, a hard job. If you think that a garbage man deserves that kind of pay, then me being a network engineer should be paid about 300K a year which IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I make only a little more than those garbage men and I had to shell out 10's of thousands of dollars in education and certifications. I could do their job right now, but they could never in a million years jump into mine and know anything at all what to do.
there in lies the rub ehhh? so you think they should be penalized because they didn't go your route? many people like you buy into the idea that higher education and getting a skill entitles you to make more money then people who don't. when in fact there are many ways in america to make a decent paycheck. me thinks you may be feeling a little foolish that you went ahead and spend the time and money to get where you are and others, who partied in high school, went out to the bars and had a great time while you studied. then had the nerve to go out and work in a filthy dirty job no one really wants to do, and they make about the same money as you do. my gad the nerve of the unskilled book smarts doesn't always mean smart or competent. taking the advise that some say on this thread, perhaps you should dump your job and do another that pays better eh?
are we really going to have working people start turning on each other now? all working people have to pay taxes so we are all in this together.
obviously people are worth what they can get WITHOUT HAVING TO BE BAILED OUT.
there is real anger at the unions for turning on other workers with sweetheart deals for themselves with the government, with needing to be bailed out on pensions, and their support of illegal immigration (which really hurts wages). there is real anger at wall street elites, for giving themselves a taxpayer funded bailout through the federal reserve.
both sides rightly deserve some anger directed at them, with workers caught in the middle.
BBC News - Cleaners 'worth more to society' than bankers - study
Britsh think tank research shows that hospital cleaners add more value per dollar paid than Bankers. IMO most people in the SEIU cannot be really paid what they are worth because no one want high paid service workers.
A police officer only needs a high school diploma, and the starting salary of police officers are higher than many trash men and secondary teachers (in every city).
There are flight attendants who make 100,000 Per year and travel the world for free and just have to serve food and assist the passengers.
Why are you discriminating the trash men? They work harder than the police, firefighters, flight attendants, lifeguards, etc etc etc, and all those professions that are highly paid and only require a high school diploma.

Exactly. They love Capitalism when it benefits them, but when it benefits the other guy the want "fairness" and socialism.

So you want Socialism. Ok, thanks for clarifying that.

Not true anymore. There are many police departments that want college educated people now.
Well, sometimes I wonder if people like 70Ford hate unions as much as Hitler did. If people with that ideology take over the political system, you will have to be happy with an abolished union, and $2.69/hour wages and no benefits. Unchecked free market is a wonderful thing (for those who stand to benefit from it).
Not a single union employee in my entire industry, and I make well over the rate these trash collectors are desiring.
with all their skills they should just quit and get better paying jobs. very simple
