"House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer gave a gloomy assessment of his party's prospects"

"When reminded that political handicapper Charlie Cook is predicting a loss of 30 to 40 seats and perhaps more for House Democrats this fall, Mr. Hoyer didn't push back. "It's an accurate view of what the polls reflect right now. Yes. I have great respect for Charlie Cook." Democrats would lose control of the House if they drop 40 seats."

Looks like people are waking up to their mistake of November 2008.......I'm happy to see it and just hope it won't be too late to undo the damage already done.

OP, these people, whether Republican or Democrat will ALWAYS have a job.

Have you not seen the revolving door of Congress and lobbyists?

You have people going into the FCC, FDA, or whatever governmental agency who were CEOs or who have stocks in companies they are supposedly regulating.

It'll be interesting to see how Obama would deal with a Republican majority in congress. I hope the Democrats can keep their majority, but if not, this might end up being a blessing in disguise. President Clinton and the 1990s Republican majority came up with some terrific compromises that helped the country a lot. Bush and the Democrats from 07-09, on the other hand, could not work together well at all.
