During the campaign, Obama was adamant about bringing the troops home...His buddies in the Black Caucaus (such as Rangel) were just livid about the inequitable number of Blacks in the military Rangel even wanted to bring back the Draft.

But, hold on!...A closer look at the numbers of those killed and wounded shows that it has a greater effect on the White population...So hey!..Now Obama is going to let things go a little longer.

Take a look at the racial mix of the military:

http://prhome.defense.gov/poprep2008/summary/chap5.pdf (broken link)

And then take a look at the racial mix of the casualties:

http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RS22452.pdf

Why the discrepancy?...Why isn't the casualty list the same as the enlisted list?...Shouldn't there be equitable distribution according to the number of people that have been making their living in the military?

And, as it is commonly known, the white population in the USA is an older population, the fact that all of these young white people are being killed and maimed, is going to hasten the decline of the white population.

If it was the other way around, wouldn't we be calling this ethnic cleansing?...Wouldn't we be calling this Racism?

Were is Rangel now?

What do all the pro-immigrants have to say about the fact that the (legal resident) Hispanic population is under-represented in both enlistment and causalties. Read the numbers...

Why is it that Obama is not keeping his campaign promise?

Read the numbers and think before you reply....Give some facts...not slogans or sound bites.

The numbers are definitely something to think about...You can certainly make an argument out of them.

Obama said he would wind down and bring most of the troops home FROM IRAQ by Aug 2010.

He NEVER said anything about withdrawing from Afghanistan. Infact Obama was in favor of sending more troops over there and focusing on Afghanistan. 1 reason he was critical of the Iraq war was because it took the focus off of Afghanistan. Remember Obama wanted to send troops on hot pursuit into Pakistan.

So stating that Obama campaigned on bringing the troops home is not accurate as he only said he would bring them home from Iraq but that he would send more to Afghanistan.

Under whos administration did these wars start?
Who waged a war on lies that has seen thousands of Americans dead and injured?

For you to say that a few thousand White soldiers dying in Iraq and Afghanistan is going to affect the demographics of America is simply ludicrous. We have a population of over 300 million, of whom roughly %66 is White, not including the White Hispanics.

TS
What kind of math do you use that sees almost 200 million White America be affected by a few thousand dead White soldiers. In Vietnam, 58,000 American servicemen died, so do you think LBJ was trying to wipe Whites out.

Candidate Obama and President Obama are two different people. Although Candidate Obama said he favored sending more troops to Afghanistan, which he did do as President, he completely backed down from the pretense that he expected to finish the job there. Instead, by setting a de facto deadline, 18 months, he essentionally told the world he doesn't have the same fortitude as President that he did as Candidate.

That's not exactly a bright spot in the league of War Presidents.

Well he was probably advised to give the Pakistanis more time and sending in troops might be counterproductive.

I wish he would take a hard line with Pakistan but I also realize his advisers might say not to push it by sending troops in. Atleast under the Obama admin, the Sec of State has been more blunt and critical of the Pakistanis than the Sec of State under Bush.
