They did not filibuster. There was a vote; it failed. Learn the difference.

These bills need to be read completely and understood before any vote takes place. When did we ever get to this place where bills are not even read before voted on?

No, no, no. You've got it backwards. We have to PASS the bill so we can find out what's in it. Welcome to Obama's Congress.

Hopefully they include language to better regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
It is a bit ironic, it was the federal regulators who did not see the banking disaster coming, did not prevent the Madoff ripoffs, or prevent F&F from acting recklessly. Yet, it is these same regulators that congress feels will actually do there jobs this time, if we just give them more power to regulate?
The federal regulators failed us because they are too busy watching porn to do their freaking jobs.

The Dems should just shut this down and tell the pukes this will be the 2010 campaign. The pukes want to protect the billionaire bankers let them explain it to the voters.

sorry, I did not see any financial reform in the bill. take the bail out money out of the bill and other things as well and it would be better than what is being shoved down the peoples throat.

Not that a debate will fix it mind you..but at least it will have the bill out on the website for a day or two so some can read it and hope an amendment won't come in at 4AM on the day of the vote.

Maybe you should consider electing Republican representatives that actually want to pass legislation or debate, instead of the current ones that are doing everything imaginable to completely stall the government and break it so that they can get Democrats voted out of office?
Call me crazy!

More legislation is not necessarily always the answer.
