Not just rallies, what about check points in the street, what about in parks, etc...If you have a gun, you should be able to provide a FOID card. If you don't have a gun, you have nothing to worry about. The only people who would worry about this are criminals with guns. Agree?

How is it a strawman? Are you saying law-abiding, legal hispanics aren't going to be humiliating asked for their papers just like law-abiding, legal gun owners would be in this scenario?

Ya it's not.

There aren't 12-20 million teapartiers, much less 12-20 million suspected of violating gun laws. Strawman.

Illegal immigration is an ongoing problem that's been unchecked for decades. Illegal gun possession is not. Strawman.

So the only reason you oppose this is because the number of violators is smaller?

It's a strawman because the law does not allow the government to go to rallies and just start questioning people. There have been protests about this law, and I haven't heard of anyone showing up and randomly asking for citizenship papers.

Where in the law does it state that law enforcements jurisdiction stops at rallies? What about outside of rallies, the op stated, etc..
