Check their ID they may be illegal Canadians.

The SWAT was in a staging area..knowing the Tea Party grannies would be there... There is no doubt the calling of the SWAT was coordinated.

Grandma would have rushed the SWAT but her scoliosis was bothering her..
I'll take the word of the Quincy Herald before the right wingnut blog

Wow. This country is fast going to hell in a handbasket when its own President calls the Swat Team on peaceful US citizens exercising their right to free speech.

Oh my God, as a 15-year USAF Firearms Trainer - someone tell these SWAT guys to get in step! I've seen better marching from ROTC students! Pathetic!

It is kind of fascist for Barry HO to call out the Metro East St. Louis (lovely area) SWAT team for a peaceful protest, but as this cadre looks like the Keystone Cops, I'm sure many of the tea party protestors - many of whom are qualified sharpshooters like myself - we're just laughing more than anything.

Considering all other protests this past decade have been greeted with that same crowd of riot gear police, I'm unclear why the policy was mysteriously suspended the day Tea came to exist. Those officers were very polite in their instructions to citizens, weren't they? They didn't impede them, or shove them, or harass them the way others have been treated during previous administration. They also didn't run them down into alleys, up stairwells, or box canyons where reasonable people could not follow irrational directions.

Perhaps it has something to do with this administration taking their right to free speech more seriously?

Well I think there is some truth to that phennomena when you consider how badly Guilliani directed police in NYC. They were following orders. Political ones, not legal ones. I'm thinking there's something wrong with that arrangement no matter who is on what side of an issue.

Again. PROVE IT.

The President of the United States was in town. That means security.

There was no tear gas cloud. There were no beatings. Obama wasn't marching the cops around himself.

The local cops called in their "big guns" because they had a VIP in town.

I still remember when my hometown had GHW Bush come to town in 1990 or so. They had snipers on rooftops and built enclosures for his entrance and exit at the high school football stadium.

You know you're being silly.
