I am trying to come up with a quote, an article, a video clip, ANYTHING where an outspoken conservative gave Obama the benefit of the doubt on any issue.

It seems that as soon a something pops up in the media it's "Obama's fault" before the man even can address the issue.

(It was the same thing for Bush but at least Bush got a break after 9/11)

The pressure in that job must be ENORMOUS!

His background, influences, associations and lack of experience were what caused the Conservative backlash. Sure, just being a Democrat didn't help either but we'll get that till the cows come home from both sides.

the outspoken right wing conservatives never gave obama a chance, he same way left wingers didn't give bush a chance.

however the conservative moderates did give him a chance, thats how he won. but looking at his ratings now, the conservative moderates have taken their chance back.

By virtue of their own politics and the interest in their career, I am sure that any support given would be done so moderately. However, we are still at the beginning of his term, with many pivotal issues arising/existing - so I would like to give ALL our representatives the benefit of the doubt at this time. Their own elections are coming up and many will now have to state clearly where they stand on these issues to ensure their current/proposed seat. Their boots ARE made for walking - so we'll see how they ALL do.

I felt exactly the same way when McCain chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. I thought, how stupid can he be to take such a gamble with America's future.

Obama was the only choice after the Maverick picked the Rogue.

Why should conservatives give Obama an inch? His background (ACORN, community agitator) and idealogy (socialism) are anathema to them.

As far as liberals supporting Bush after 9/11, Ground Zero was still smoldering when sites on the the Internet, then Air America, were full of comments and suspicions about Bush and Saudi Arabia and shortly after the truthers surfaced with their demented ideas.

The only wish I have for this administration is that they don't completely blow it. We now have a bomb in Times Square and a bomb in Pittsburgh, the massive oil spill, the turmoil caused by the immigration laws in AZ and other states considering like laws, to say nothing of the financial turmoil in Europe.

I hope this guy has what it takes, but I don't think he does.

It is hard to "give him a chance" when

1. He has exploded the debt, leading us to the path of insolvency

2. opposes personal liberties and has become obsessed with maligning opposition talk show hosts and monitoring opposition internet chat.

3. sends thugs to break up opposition free assemblies

4. has granted Iran the nuclear bomb by inability to act

5. has alienated our allies and has embraced tyrants, such as Chavez and Castro

6. Has no energy policy whatsoever and refuses to expand domestic energy production, while having ZERO deve, opment of viable alternatives that can be available within the decade.

7. Has kept unemployment at 10% through failed economic policy. which blew $1 trillion on pork and created no new jobs

8. Has embraced Wall Street at the expense of Main Street and has bailed out the banks while letting individuals lose thier mortgages

9. Nationalized the healthcare industry, banking, and auto industries

10. Has continued to make statements about 'redistribution of wealth"

11. Supports citizenship for illegal immigrants at the expense of his own citizens

I guess if we still "gave him a chance" things can and will be much, mcuh worse.

With bailouts? Bailouts that are now being paid back? I disagree with the principal behind it, but saying he bankrupted the country, is far from true. Many Republicans supported the same thing. If you remember, a Republican President started the whole bail out thing.

Not a great thing to do, so I'll give you that one

What personal liberties? The right to not buy health insurance, then allowing you to go to the emergency room, where the public has to fit your bill anyway?

Reagan made it where ER had to see patients with or without insurance.

That infringed on my personal liberty.

Don't complain about Obama, he is just trying to fix a Republican made problem.

Proof?

Proof? He hasn't done anymore, or any less than the Bush administration did. As a matter of fact, the Russians are teaming up with us now, something that didn't happen under Bush. I'd say he is doing more.

When did he embrace Castro or Chavez? We are one of only a few countries in the world that have an embargo with Cuba still. England, Canada, Russia, and several others we are allied with trade with them freely. How is he being easy on them, when they are far easier than we are?

Chavez, how is he easy on Chavez? We can't embargo Venezuela, they have oil.

He was open to expanding domestic oil drilling, then this accident happened. I'd say caution is due.

He is trying to get a domestic energy policy, but Republicans keep fighting it, because they don't like his ideas.

Just because he doesn't support your option, doesn't mean he doesn't have one.

Really, did he have a mandate to keep unemployment at 10% or something?

I must have missed that executive order.

No, he only made it mandatory to get healthcare. No national healthcare option is available. Banking and the auto industry, Bush bailed them out.

How is that different from Reagan, Bush 1, Bush 2?

Y'all really can't figure out what you're for or against.

I guess if you had rational things to debate with, we wouldn't fight back so hard.
