I find it more than a little coincidental that right after Obama declares that he is going to expand offshore drilling there is the biggest spill disaster in history. Perhaps it's my raging paranoia but I can't help but wonder if someone is making an emphatic statement that more offshore drilling isn't a good idea and why.

I'll put my money on your raging paranoia. Driller1 has posted a link to a first person account of the accident. The article and the subsequent discussion by oil rig workers amply demonstrates that they believe the explosion was caused by an industrial accident.
