What part of "I don't have to buy pepsi" did you not understand?
What part of you DO buy something and are therefore being gouged for the advertising of everyone who was involved in selling it to you do you not understand?

It amazes me how much some people will try to put a square peg into a round hole.
If you buy handcrafted soda you are not being gouged, as they have limited advertising costs. Is there an organic healthy alternative to our empty calorie congresspeople?
Having "representatives" vote on how much money they should steal from everyone else to fund their "pay" is like having private bankers have a monopoly over our currency...oh wait...damn!

Not trying to be obtuse, I just want to understand.
So if I mostly just drink tap water filtered in a Brita filter-pitcher, I'm paying for the advertising budget of Pepsi?
What an idiotic post! You are comparing our tax dollars that are forcefully taken from us to pay for these leaders raises and pepsi commercials that we do not pay for if WE DO NOT BUY PEPSI!
Way to grasp the big picture, CH. And taxes aren't taken from you any more forcibly than payment for any other goods and services. Don't think so? Go down to the grocery store, fiill up a cart, then try to dash out without paying. Tell the arresting officers that they're using excessive force on you. They always like to hear that one...

To be fair, their salary isnt really out of line with their job requirements, but it is odd to have them vote on their own paycheck..
Does it make sense to you to calmly fork over billions upon billion of dollars every year for advertising that does next to nothing for you, and then go ballistic over the idea of paying a measly extra million to the people who run your government for you??? Go ahead, tell me it does...
Please give me a run down of the daily itinerary of one of our congressional leaders. The only hard work these people do is bicker, rant and oppose any ideas from the opposite party. Meanwhile they drive Government cars, pay for Steak dinners on my dime and delegate most of their "work" to their staffs who we also pay.
Wait wait wait, just because the OP posted pictures of the 15 members who voted for a pay raise does not make him racist. Just because someone stated the obvious that 13/15 of them are colored does not make anyone racist here. I think you're a bit quick to call someone a racist, just because I hate Obama does not make me racist. He could be white and I would still hate him.
I ask again, what purpose was served by posting the pictures? What information pertinent to the actual thread topic was conveyed by them? There isn't any. The ONLY reason for posting the pictures was to carry the message of RACE...
