Default Lobbyists

Should lobbyists be restricted from political figures? It seems that everything that is wrong with this country has come back to some type of political favors being paid off to a corporation, and the individual taxpayers and citizens of this country pay the tab for this.

A waitress is working for gratuities paid by the customers. She coordinates with those in the kitchen and makes the customer happy with everything. Good service ~ good tips.

A politician is already paid by the tax payers and works for us, yet he isn’t providing service for us, he’s working for the lobbyists and picking up gratuities from them. They should be fired for failure to service the citizens, just like the waitress should be ask to take a hike for failure to provide good service.

Yes: create a buffer zone around DC and state capitols. Ok, that still wouldn't work: I've got a more idealistic plan that will solve the crisis: scoot up the illegals to the front of the paddy wagon and load up the lobbyists lastly and dump them all into Mexico.

Maybe Mexico wouldn't want them?

I despise lobbyists. However, I doubt they'll be going away anytime soon. As far as I know, they have protections under the first amendment - their money is considered "Political speech", I believe.

You're absolutely right, they won't go away any time soon. Sen. Majority Leader Reid's son and son-in-law are both lobbyists.
