Maybe the answer is they know the Monsanto products give them the best yield and the most profit.

Of course, I would expect the experts posting here to disagree.
I'll agree with you to a point. However, there was a day when most all seed production and "invention" was done in the public universities. That day is just about over. Most development today is done in for-profit labs with patented seed. As each day goes, less and less and fewer kinds of public domain seed is available giving farmers less choice.

(By the way, raised on a ranch from age 7, currently have a farm and work it.)

And why is Monsanto dominating?

Cuz farmers prefer their product over others.

If farmers prefered the products of other seed companies, those companies would be controlling the majority of the market.

Hows about they can dominate if they buy out the competitors ?

Did everyone use AT&T back in the day because they were good or because they were the only one ??

Because they keep changing their name but mostly operate in Europe.
Most Americans hear "Bayer" and just think aspirin.

I'd also keep an eye out on Eli Lily. They are not only drugs.
Monsanto sold their cow hormone rights to Eli Lily who will market it as they have an animal health sector.

apples to oranges

I can't chose my electrical supplier
I can't choose my telephone provider ( land line)

I can choose which seeds I buy cuz there are a lot of non GMO seed still on the market.

Maybe we should get mad at that " evil" Case-IH and John Deere and blame them cuz we can't buy Minneapolis Moline, Massey Harris, Cockshutt,Oliver, Allis Chalmers, tractors anymore.

I just heard that Monsanto's is working on an aluminum resistant seed. Now why do we need to do that? Because they have been raining down aluminum on us for years. They are contaminating us and the soil.

VIDEO What in the World Are They Spraying InfoShare

Sad to say our government allows all this.
