If stocks are going down, why would you want to encourage people to sell? What's your motivation?

Isn't it better if people don't get freaked out like chicken little and make things worse?

Every day the Left celebrated as the economy crashed - just go back and do a search from that time - the leftists were out in force putting up every bit of bad news they could find.

Not to mention actively hoping for defeat of our troops.

Well .... for some investors, a significant market decline is seen as an opportunity .... so why not?

It is happening but quietly. I was just reading that about the banks..actually in the FDIC article.

FDIC: More banks failing even as industry recovers - USATODAY.com

"Delinquencies on commercial real estate loans remain a source of trouble. That's especially true at smaller and midsized banks."

Our economy is based largely on consumer confidence and though the market logically should have no effect on the economy, the fact that consumers use it as a gauge makes it very influential on consumer spending. In Academia where only logic is applied while ignoring human behavior (which is a flawed logic in itself), the market and economy are separate but in the real world where all those other dynamics come into play, the market and the economy are one in the same.
