You know who I am talking about. Not you, but those who are always happy to point out every bit of bad news and negative news and then spin so they can link the blame to someone they don't like. Only a person who hates his/her country would celebrate bad news.
Every day the Left celebrated as the economy crashed - just go back and do a search from that time - the leftists were out in force putting up every bit of bad news they could find.

Our economy is based largely on consumer confidence and though the market logically should have no effect on the economy, the fact that consumers use it as a gauge makes it very influential on consumer spending. In Academia where only logic is applied while ignoring human behavior (which is a flawed logic in itself), the market and economy are separate but in the real world where all those other dynamics come into play, the market and the economy are one in the same.
