Why don't they cover the rapidity with which the federal government got involved? Could it be that they supported Obama for election and they are afraid to tell the truth?

Of course, you do know that the FEC members are appointed by the successful candidate nearly before he is "coronated".

If Issa initiates a formal ethics complaint, there will be no easy way for the White House to ignore the allegations. If subpoenas are issued and ignored, then a neon "I'm Guilty Of A Felony" sign will be erected over the White House. There will be little escaping the perception of guilt if the Issa goes ahead with his threat. Obama has a potential problem on his hands here.

This could get interesting.

Democrats see this as a liability.

Dem lawmaker urges White House to release details on Sestak job - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

Quote:
Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner (N.Y.) called on the White House on Monday to detail conversations it allegedly had with Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) to try to convince him to drop his Senate bid.

Weiner said that allegations that White House officials had offered Sestak an administration job in exchange for his dropping of his primary bid against Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) had become a growing political liability.
Yeah, breaking federal law would be a liability. obama was hoping this would just go away, but apparently its heating up a bit.

So far Holder is AWOL, but what can one expect from the most political AG ever.

what it takes to get the most transparent administration ever to fess up to things they are doing is the media, en mass, demanding the information. If that doesn't happen, they just figure they'll ignore the scandal and it will eventually go away.

Before the Internet School of Law gets too carried away on this issue, take a look at what constitutes bribery according to U.S. Code.

United States Code: Title 18,CHAPTER 11—BRIBERY, GRAFT, AND CONFLICTS OF INTEREST | LII / Legal Information Institute

I think the left is in their final death throws here. That party is getting kookier and kookier. We have people here COVERING and MAKING EXCUSES for the WH doing something illegal. I am so convinced that the majority of lefties on here are definitely bought and paid for by the Obama administration. Anyone who completely agrees with 100% of the agenda coming out of Washington is a bought and paid for partisan hack. Nobody agress with ANYBODY 100% of the time.

Sestak, White House deflect job-offer questions | Philadelphia Inquirer | 05/24/2010 (http://www.philly.com/philly/news/homepage/20100524_Sestak__White_House_deflect_job-offer_questions.html?submit=Vote&94731464=Y&oid=1& mr=1&cid=8500281&pid=94731464 - broken link)

Rep. Joe Sestak, the brand-new Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania, and White House press secretary Robert Gibbs each dodged questions Sunday about Sestak's claim that the Obama administration offered him a job last summer if he would skip a primary challenge to Sen. Arlen Specter.

The issue, with implications of potential illegality by the White House, has rekindled in the five days since Sestak defeated Specter, who fled the Republican Party to seek a sixth term.
I'm guessing Rahm or Axelrod are involved.

Quote:
"President Obama faces a critical choice - either he can live up to his rhetoric of transparency and accountability and disclose who in his White House tried to manipulate an election by bribing a U.S. congressman, or he can allow his administration to stonewall and relinquish the mantle of change," Issa said Sunday in a statement.
I'm guessing the latter.

Obama and Specter obviously felt that each was better served by remaining close. The voters felt differently, no shock. Blago and Specter and Obama, the terrible trio.
