J.D. Hayworth: WWII 'never declared'

As former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) recalls, the United States “never” declared war against Nazi Germany during World War II.

Hayworth made the incorrect assertion while taking questions from voters last week in Phoenix as part of his primary campaign against Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a video of which did not start making the rounds in Washington until Monday.

I don't think you are correct. I can't find any information backing up your claims. All I can find is that Germany declared war on us, nothing anywhere states that we had done the same back. Please post the info.

Still doesn't beat Obama's claim that there are 58 states in the US, now does it?

Actually, he said 57, but we're not talking about him in the OP.

One is misspeaking, Hayworth's claim is just a major history fail.

In context, he was using it to illustrate why he voted for sending troops into Iraq.
