For everyone who thinks this is like Nazi Germany...do tyou really think the camera man would still be alive if this was Nazi Germany? Do you really think this forum would exist in Nazi Germany? Do you really think you'd be allowed to voice your opinion if this was Nazi Germany? Grow up and realize that we have a problem with our borders, the least of which are hard working, honest immigrants trying to cross over and start a new life. I don't mind surrendering my all important rights for 1 second to answer a simple "yes" or "no" question. You're making mountains out of mole hills.

You just do not get it.. They are there for the public safety, trying to keep drug runners and Illegal Immigrants from crossing. It's no issue for you to declare that you are an American citizen and be on your way. we should get rid of police on the streets as well.. they "invade" my privacy (while driving down a public road) by stopping me at DUI checkpoints, SMOG checkpoints and registration checkpoints. the whole purpose of this is not to harass the law abiding citizen, but to keep them safe. The only person here thats not getting it is you, while driving on a public road LE has every right to enforce the laws and try to keep our countrymen safe. Now if they were harassing law abiding citizens for no reason, detaining you for fun.. well I could see your point.

I am all for catching illegals and deporting them but not at the expense of harassing citizens.
If he was being pulled over for speeding ( able to verify the person was speeding) Then ask if they are legally here. If you are arrested then ask if the person is here legally.
I dont support agents being able to just stop you and ask this.

Do you know that Ice agents board trains running to and from Canada to check peoples identification? The trains can be 40 miles from the border. They check everyone on the train and arrest those whose papers are not in order to be in the US legally. Seems we don't hear a lot about this, but it is no different than along the southern border of the US. The border to the south has just gotten more publicity.
