Why is he not a racist? Heck why isnt Matthews a racist
Those kind of come statements remind of Chris Rock's bit on white people talking about how Colin Powell "Speaks so well".

Maher wasn't "discussing racial issues". He parodied Obama as a black gangsta. Maher can do it and it's comedy because he a darling of the Left. I'm posting a picture I found depicting Obama as a black gangsta and because I'm a conservative, it will be deemed "racist". Double standard?? You betcha!!
I saw that much of the Bill Maher abortion the other night and when he said he wanted a M F er for a President I got away from HBO quick. I haven't watched that slob in a long time and that little bit convinced me that it will be months or longer before I do it again. In fact, the way he talks has convinced me that I will have to get rid of HBO to keep him from getting even one second on my TV.

He leaves me with such a sick feeling that hbo gives me the creeps too.
Maher is a comedian. He was being funny. Not your kind of humor?? Don't tune into his show!
We who find him repulsive will not have to worry about it if we cancel HBO and tell them the reason why.

Cornel West was a guest on the show soon after that joke was made. West is not known for keeping opinions to himself, and he did not comment. West apparently understood that Maher meant President Obama should be more aggressive. Michael Eric Dyson another prolific black commenter was a guest the week before. I don't think these men would appear on Real Time if they thought Maher was a racist. Racism should be fought where it actually exists instead of focusing on a joke. Maher is an equal opportunity offender. He called the Mormons "bat ----" crazy on the same show.

bashing religion gets Joy Behar to laugh with him and nod her head up and down like a bubble doll
bashing gays would mean he wouldn't appear again on her show.
Bill Maher's show is intended to be comedic. It is on HBO, not a public news channel.
Even if he's seen by some to be a comedian, that doens't make him non-racist.
