Silence is really deafening. The TEA party attacks things like health care, Social Security and education that help everyday Americans but when it comes to the government spending $200 trillion EVERY QUARTER to help big banks and mortgage peddlers, NOT a word from them! Not a word !!!

I highly doubt there are many in the tea party who go along with the big bank bailouts and mortgage give-aways --- of course to those who went for the sub-prime mortgages because the responsible who put in a big downpayment and harder to get fixed mortgage get absolutely NOTHING.

They don't attack social security, medicare/medicaid, or any other social program they benefit from.

They attacked the healthcare overhaul, because they were afraid it'd cut their medicare. They attacked the bailouts for various reasons, most of them that I have meet don't like the Bush tax cuts either, but Obama is President now, so he is getting the blame for all of the bail out stuff.

Other than that, they don't disagree with the President to much.

What I don't like about the tea party, is that they aren't serious about cutting the budget, and paying down our debt. If they were, they'd focus on military expenses.

I know no conservative that backs this. I do know that most conservatives do not want the government to bail out ANYONE.

I would love to see Medicaid ended, and I'd be thrilled if they paid me what I've poured into Social Security and stopped that ponzi scheme right now. I would very much like to never have to pay another dime into that program, just give me all the money that has been confiscated from my pay check - plus my employer's portion of it.

Medicaid benefits me not at all. I've also been paying into Medicare AND my private insurance which should stop.

There is no social program that benefits me in any way.

I have heard any of them say we should do away with Fannie, Freddie and the FHA. If they are really for "private business", why not?

I agree. The government should not be involved in any of that.

You haven't been paying attention Fannie and Freddie are their favorite whipping boys. It is the left who has completely ignored them while vilifying GS, JPM and MS.

Maybe you're not listening for things you don't want to hear, that would explain this entire thread.

So this thread was made to trash the tea party movement? They are the one's who starting speaking up about the bailouts. Where were you?

If you want to discontinue the entitlement programs the federal government started years ago to get people dependent on them, GET BUSY.
